Which actress played Karen Filippelli in The Office US?

Rashida Jones played Karen Filippelli in the U.S. version of The Office. Karen is introduced as a sales representative at Dunder Mifflin’s Stamford branch and later transfers to Scranton after the two offices merge.

Jones joined the show during its third season, when Karen became romantically involved with Jim Halpert. Their relationship creates a major storyline because Jim is still emotionally connected to Pam Beesly, even while dating Karen. Karen is ambitious, competitive, and more career-focused than many of her coworkers, eventually becoming regional manager of the Utica branch.

Viewers sometimes confuse Jones with Amy Ryan, who played Holly Flax, or Mindy Kaling, who played Kelly Kapoor. Jones later starred as Ann Perkins on Parks and Recreation, another NBC comedy connected to The Office through creator Greg Daniels and several cast members. Karen returned briefly in later seasons, including an appearance connected to the documentary crew’s story.
