Which actress played Honey Ryder in the James Bond film Dr. No?
Answer
Ursula Andress
Answer
Ursula Andress
Ursula Andress played Honey Ryder in the James Bond film Dr. No.
Honey Ryder is a Jamaican shell diver whom Bond meets on Crab Key while investigating the activities of Dr. Julius No. Andress’s entrance from the sea, wearing a white bikini and carrying a knife, became one of the most recognized images in early Bond cinema.
The role made Andress an international star and helped establish the popular “Bond girl” label, although the series has used many different kinds of female characters over time. Her voice in the English-language release was dubbed by Nikki van der Zyl because of Andress’s Swiss-German accent.
Honey Ryder is sometimes mistakenly identified with later Bond characters because Dr. No was the first film in the series and its imagery influenced later productions. The character does not return in another official Eon Bond film.
