Which actor plays Ra’s al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins?

Liam Neeson plays Ra’s al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.

Neeson’s character initially appears to Bruce Wayne under the name Henri Ducard, presenting himself as a mentor who trains Bruce in combat and discipline. The story later reveals his connection to the League of Shadows and his identity as Ra’s al Ghul.

Ken Watanabe is also credited as Ra’s al Ghul, but he plays the public decoy identity used to conceal Neeson’s character. This distinction is the main reason the casting question can cause confusion.

Batman Begins was released in 2005 and rebooted the Batman film series with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. The cast also includes Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, and Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes.
