Chad Lindberg played Jesse, the mechanic and computer expert, in The Fast and the Furious.
Jesse is part of Dominic Toretto’s Los Angeles crew in the original 2001 film. He is portrayed as technically gifted, enthusiastic about cars, and less physically imposing than some of the other racers. His computer skills are especially important to the crew’s ability to monitor vehicles and organize races.
Lindberg’s performance helped make Jesse a memorable supporting character even though he appears primarily in the first film. Matt Schulze, who played Vince, is a frequent source of confusion because Vince is another male member of Dominic’s crew. Johnny Strong played Leon, while Ja Rule played Edwin.
Jesse’s storyline also gives the first film one of its most serious turning points. His impulsive decision to race Johnny Tran creates consequences that connect the racing plot to the movie’s criminal rivalry.
