Aaron Eckhart played Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
Eckhart’s character begins the film as Gotham City’s idealistic district attorney. He is presented as a public symbol of lawful resistance to organised crime, working alongside Batman and police commissioner James Gordon. After a devastating attack, Dent suffers severe injuries and becomes the disfigured vigilante Two-Face.
The role is central to the film’s moral conflict. Harvey’s transformation shows how violence and grief can corrupt a figure who initially represents hope and justice. Eckhart portrayed both Dent’s public confidence and the darker personality that emerges after his tragedy.
Common mix-ups include confusing Harvey Dent with Jonathan Crane, played by Cillian Murphy, or with Bane, played by Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises. The Dark Knight was released in 2008 and also starred Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, and Gary Oldman.
