Paul Walker played Brian O’Conner in the first seven Fast & Furious films.

Brian is introduced in The Fast and the Furious as an undercover police officer investigating Dominic Toretto’s street-racing crew. Over the series, he becomes Dom’s close friend and brother-in-law, while moving away from his original law-enforcement role.

Walker reprised Brian in the franchise’s first six films and filmed much of Furious 7. He died in 2013 before production was complete. The film used his brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, as stand-ins, together with visual effects, to finish Brian’s remaining scenes.

Furious 7 was dedicated to Walker and concludes Brian’s story with a farewell rather than recasting the role. A common error is crediting Lucas Black, who played Sean Boswell in Tokyo Drift, as Brian; they are different characters.
