Which actor played Bond villain Blofeld in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service?

Telly Savalas played Blofeld in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Released in 1969, the film cast George Lazenby as James Bond and Telly Savalas as Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Savalas portrayed Blofeld as a direct, physically imposing criminal leader whose plan involves using women under his influence to spread biological threats.

Blofeld had appeared previously in the film series, but the role was recast several times. Donald Pleasence played him in You Only Live Twice, while Charles Gray portrayed him in Diamonds Are Forever. Christoph Waltz later played a new version of the character in Spectre and No Time to Die.

Savalas’s performance is therefore specific to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The film is also notable for being George Lazenby’s only official appearance as Bond and for its unusually emotional ending.
