Which 2026–27 Premier League opening-weekend match was played at Craven Cottage?
Answer
Fulham versus Chelsea
Fulham versus Chelsea was the 2026–27 Premier League opening-weekend match played at Craven Cottage.
Craven Cottage is Fulham’s home stadium beside the River Thames in London. Fulham hosted Chelsea there on Monday 24 August 2026, in the final fixture of the opening round. Chelsea won the local derby 3–2.
The venue provides a useful way to distinguish this match from other opening-weekend London fixtures. Brentford hosted Tottenham at Brentford Community Stadium, while Everton hosted Crystal Palace at Goodison Park. Fulham’s match was the only one in the round played at Craven Cottage.
The stadium is historically associated with Fulham and is known for its riverside setting and listed Johnny Haynes Stand. The match therefore combined a modern Premier League fixture with one of English football’s most recognisable traditional grounds.
