F1 won Best Sound, one of the newly introduced craft categories at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.
The 31st ceremony added four categories: Best Casting and Ensemble, Best Sound, and Best Stunt Design for film, plus Best Variety Series for television. F1 won the sound prize, while its editing team also received Best Editing.
The film's sound work was especially important because its story centers on Formula One racing, where engine noise, track atmosphere, radio communication, and musical design help create the experience of competition. The movie was directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Brad Pitt.
This award is distinct from Best Visual Effects, which went to Avatar: Fire and Ash, and Best Stunt Design, which honored Wade Eastwood for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
