Which 2019 film features Beyoncé as the voice of Nala?

The 2019 film The Lion King features Beyoncé as the voice of Nala.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney’s 1994 traditionally animated feature. Beyoncé voices the adult Nala, while Donald Glover voices Simba and James Earl Jones reprises Mufasa.

Beyoncé also contributed the original song “Spirit” to the film’s soundtrack. The song was released as the lead single from the companion album The Lion King: The Gift, which she curated and produced.

The 2019 film is distinct from Mufasa: The Lion King, a 2024 prequel that focuses on Mufasa’s early life and does not feature Beyoncé as Nala. Beyoncé had also voiced characters in other animated projects, but Nala is her prominent role in this Disney remake.
