Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé is the 2019 film combining concert footage with a documentary about her 2018 Coachella performance.
Netflix released Homecoming on April 17, 2019. The film documents Beyoncé’s preparation for and performance at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where she became the first Black woman to headline the festival. It also includes backstage material and commentary about the production.
The performance featured a large marching-band-inspired ensemble, Destiny’s Child reunions with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and a repertoire spanning Beyoncé’s solo work and group history. The accompanying live album was also titled Homecoming: The Live Album.
Homecoming is distinct from Black Is King, Beyoncé’s 2020 visual album film associated with The Lion King: The Gift. Life Is But a Dream is a 2013 HBO documentary about Beyoncé’s life and career.
