Which 2019 Beyoncé album features the song “Spirit” from The Lion King?
Answer
The Lion King: The Gift
The 2019 Beyoncé album featuring “Spirit” from The Lion King is The Lion King: The Gift.
Walt Disney Records released the album on July 19, 2019, alongside the theatrical release of Disney’s photorealistic remake of The Lion King. Beyoncé curated and executive-produced the project, which includes songs inspired by the film’s story, characters, and themes.
“Spirit” served as the album’s lead single and appeared in the film, where Beyoncé voiced Nala. The album brings together African artists and international performers, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Childish Gambino.
The album is distinct from Black Is King, a 2020 visual album film that reimagines the music and themes of The Lion King: The Gift. That connection often causes the two titles to be confused. The Gift is the 2019 studio album; Black Is King is its later visual companion project.
