Answer
The Lion King: The Gift
The Lion King: The Gift is the 2019 Beyoncé album featuring songs connected to Disney’s The Lion King.
Released on July 19, 2019, the album was curated by Beyoncé and inspired by the 2019 photorealistic remake of The Lion King. Beyoncé voiced the adult Nala in the film and also appeared on its soundtrack as a performer and producer.
The album brings together artists from Africa and the African diaspora, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, JAY-Z, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, and Pharrell Williams. Its songs blend Afrobeats, R&B, hip-hop, pop, dancehall, and other styles.
The project should not be confused with the film’s official soundtrack, which contains Hans Zimmer’s score and songs from the movie. Beyoncé later developed the visual album Black Is King from music associated with The Lion King: The Gift. Black Is King premiered on Disney+ in 2020.
