Which 2013 Beyoncé song was featured in the film The Great Gatsby?

“Crazy in Love” was the Beyoncé song featured in the 2013 film The Great Gatsby.

Beyoncé originally released “Crazy in Love” in 2003 as the lead single from her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. The recording features rapper Jay-Z and is built around a prominent horn sample from the Chi-Lites’ 1970 song “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So).”

For Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 film The Great Gatsby, Beyoncé and André 3000 recorded a slower, more atmospheric cover. It appears on the film’s soundtrack, which combines modern artists and production with the story’s 1920s setting. The soundtrack version is therefore distinct from Beyoncé’s original hit single.

The original “Crazy in Love” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped establish Beyoncé’s solo career. The Great Gatsby soundtrack appearance is sometimes confused with the original recording, but the film used the Beyoncé and André 3000 version.
