The 2006 film Tokyo Drift was the first Fast & Furious movie to feature Sung Kang as Han Lue.
Han appears as a skilled driver and mentor within Tokyo's drifting scene. Although Tokyo Drift was released before several films set earlier in the franchise chronology, later installments expanded Han's history and placed him alongside Dom's crew before the events of the third film.
Sung Kang's portrayal made Han one of the most popular supporting characters in the series. His calm personality, driving ability, and friendship with other racers helped distinguish him from the more aggressive figures around him.
The timeline can cause confusion because Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6 were released after Tokyo Drift but take place partly before it. Regardless of chronology, Tokyo Drift remains Han's first appearance in the film series.
