Where is Tesla’s European Gigafactory 4 located?

The story behind the answer

Tesla’s European Gigafactory 4 is located in Grünheide, Germany.

The facility is officially known as Tesla Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, or simply Gigafactory Berlin. It stands in the municipality of Grünheide in the German state of Brandenburg, southeast of Berlin. Tesla began producing vehicles there in 2022 after receiving approval for the first production phase.

The factory was Tesla’s first European vehicle-production site. It initially built Model Y vehicles and battery systems, while also supporting Tesla’s expansion in the European market. The name can cause confusion because the plant is commonly called Gigafactory Berlin even though its physical location is in Grünheide, outside the city of Berlin.
