When did Nicole Kidman confirm her return for Practical Magic 2?

Nicole Kidman confirmed her return for Practical Magic 2 on June 13, 2024.

Kidman’s confirmation followed Warner Bros.’ June 10 announcement that a sequel was in development. She returned as Gillian Owens, the younger sister of Sally Owens, the character played by Sandra Bullock. Their reunion is one of the sequel’s main links to the original film.

The confirmation date should not be confused with later casting announcements. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing were announced as returning in July 2025, while newer cast members including Joey King, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod joined the project during 2025.

Kidman also serves as one of the film’s producers, alongside Bullock and Denise Di Novi. Her return thus covers both an acting role and a producing credit.
