What were the Noah's Ark dimensions in Genesis: length, width, and height?

The story behind the answer

Genesis gives Noah's Ark dimensions as 300 by 50 by 30 cubits: length, width, and height.

Genesis 6:15 presents these three measurements as the ark's basic proportions. It then describes three decks, an opening near the top, and a side door. The text does not define the length of a cubit, so modern conversions vary.

A common estimate treats a cubit as roughly 45 centimetres, producing approximate dimensions of 135 metres by 22.5 metres by 13.5 metres. Other ancient cubit standards would yield somewhat different figures.

The proportions are often compared with those of a large barge because the ark's stated purpose was flotation rather than powered navigation. The biblical text does not provide enough information to reconstruct every structural detail or calculate a single certain volume.
