What was the Xbox One's official launch date?

The story behind the answer

The Xbox One officially launched on November 22, 2013.

Microsoft released the console in 13 markets on that date, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and New Zealand. It followed the Xbox 360 and competed directly with Sony’s PlayStation 4, which also launched in November 2013.

The Xbox One was presented as an entertainment-focused system as well as a games console. Its launch package originally included the Kinect sensor, and the system supported television integration, apps, digital purchases, and online services.

The date is sometimes mixed up with November 15, 2013, when the PlayStation 4 launched in North America. It is also distinct from later Xbox One model releases, including the Xbox One S in 2016 and Xbox One X in 2017.
