What was the Xbox 360’s original launch color?

The story behind the answer

The original Xbox 360 launched in a white finish. Microsoft used the light-colored exterior for the first-generation console and its standard wireless controller.

The launch design had a curved front, a removable hard-drive bay on selected models, and a distinctive concave shape intended to differentiate it from the original Xbox. The Premium and Core configurations shared the basic white console appearance even though their included accessories differed.

Later Xbox 360 revisions introduced black finishes, especially with the Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E designs. This can create confusion in photographs and retrospective articles, because black Xbox 360 hardware became common after the original launch model had been replaced.
