Beyoncé's visual album released without advance promotion in 2013 was titled Beyoncé.
The self-titled album appeared on the iTunes Store on December 13, 2013, with no conventional pre-release campaign. Beyoncé described the project as an album accompanied by a video for every song, making the visual component part of the central release rather than a later add-on.
The album includes “Pretty Hurts,” “Drunk in Love,” “Partition,” and “Flawless.” Its surprise arrival became a major moment in digital music distribution because it showed how an established artist could bypass a long promotional buildup and reach listeners immediately.
Although the album is often called a visual album, Beyoncé is also simply its official title. That distinction prevents confusion with Lemonade, another Beyoncé visual album released in 2016.
