What was the title of Beyoncé’s first single from Renaissance?

“Break My Soul” was the first single released from Beyoncé’s album Renaissance.

Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records released the song on June 20, 2022. It served as the lead single for Renaissance, Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, and introduced the project’s house, dance, and disco-influenced direction.

The track features vocals from rapper Big Freedia and incorporates elements of Robin S’s 1993 song “Show Me Love” and the 1990 song “Explode” by The-Dream. Beyoncé co-wrote and co-produced it with a group of collaborators including Jay-Z, The-Dream, and Tricky Stewart.

“Break My Soul” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Beyoncé her eighth solo number-one on that chart. It also became one of the defining dance-pop singles of 2022.
