What was the title of Beyoncé’s first country-influenced album, released in 2024?

Cowboy Carter was Beyoncé's first country-influenced album, released in 2024.

The album was released on March 29, 2024, as the second act of a planned trilogy that began with Renaissance. It explores country, Americana, rock, folk, blues, and other American roots styles while connecting them to Black musical history. Beyoncé said the project grew from an experience in which she did not feel welcomed in a country-music setting.

Its singles included “Texas Hold 'Em” and “16 Carriages.” “Texas Hold 'Em” made Beyoncé the first Black woman to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. Cowboy Carter debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and later won the 2025 Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

The album is often called Act II because that label appeared in its rollout, but Cowboy Carter is the official title. It is also distinct from The Gift, Beyoncé's 2019 album inspired by The Lion King.
