What was the title of Beyoncé’s 2024 studio album?

Beyoncé’s 2024 studio album was titled Cowboy Carter.

Cowboy Carter was released on March 29, 2024, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. It is Beyoncé’s eighth studio album and the second act in a planned trilogy that began with Renaissance in 2022.

The album explores country music alongside pop, soul, rock, folk, and hip-hop. Its title refers to the Carter family name and to the album’s wider examination of Black contributions to country and American roots music. Beyoncé had previewed the project’s country direction with the singles “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.”

The album was initially announced under the working title Act II, and some people continue to use that phrase when referring to it. However, Cowboy Carter is the album’s official public title. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and made Beyoncé the first Black woman to top Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
