What is the title of Beyoncé’s 2019 album of songs from The Lion King project?

Beyoncé’s 2019 album of songs from The Lion King project is The Lion King: The Gift.

Released on July 19, 2019, the album was described as a companion album to Disney’s photorealistic remake of The Lion King. Beyoncé voiced Nala in the film and curated the project, bringing together African artists and international performers across contemporary R&B, pop, hip-hop, and Afrobeats.

The album is distinct from the film’s official soundtrack. It includes original songs inspired by the movie’s themes and characters rather than simply presenting the film’s score and dialogue. In 2020, Beyoncé expanded the project visually with Black Is King, a film built around music from The Lion King: The Gift. Confusing the album with Black Is King is common because both projects use the same broad musical world, but they are separate releases.
