Beyoncé’s 2024 album that won the Grammy for Album of the Year was Cowboy Carter.
Columbia Records released Cowboy Carter on March 29, 2024. Beyoncé presented it as an exploration of American musical history, especially the Black roots and broad traditions of country music, rather than as a narrow genre exercise.
The album includes “Texas Hold ’Em,” “16 Carriages,” and “Ya Ya,” as well as collaborations and appearances involving artists including Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Linda Martell, and Dolly Parton. Its title refers to a character named Cowboy Carter and to the album’s wider Americana framing.
At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in 2025, Cowboy Carter won Album of the Year and Best Country Album. The project is also commonly described as the second act in Beyoncé’s planned Renaissance trilogy.
