Beyoncé’s 2022 album featuring the lead single “Break My Soul” was Renaissance.
Renaissance was released on July 29, 2022, as the first act of a planned trilogy. Its sound draws heavily on dance music, house, disco, and Black and queer club traditions. “Break My Soul,” released as the lead single, became Beyoncé’s eighth solo number-one on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album also includes “Cuff It,” “Alien Superstar,” and “Virgo’s Groove.” Its unified dance-floor style marked a different emphasis from the narrative and visual approach of Lemonade.
Renaissance received nine Grammy nominations and won four awards at the 2023 ceremony. Beyoncé’s Grammy total reached 32 there, making her the most awarded artist in Grammy history at that time.
