Beyoncé’s 2022 album that became her seventh consecutive US number-one album was Renaissance.
Columbia Records released Renaissance on July 29, 2022. It is Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album and the first installment in a planned trilogy. The album’s sound draws heavily on house, dance, disco, funk, and queer club culture, presenting a deliberately dance-oriented direction.
Its lead single, “Break My Soul,” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Other prominent tracks include “Cuff It,” “Alien Superstar,” and “Virgo’s Groove.” Renaissance debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, extending Beyoncé’s streak of consecutive solo albums that opened at the top of that chart.
The album earned nine Grammy nominations and won four awards at the 65th Grammy Awards. It is distinct from Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé’s 2024 country-influenced album and the second act in the trilogy.
