Newcastle United versus Liverpool was scheduled to kick off at 16:30 on Sunday 23 August 2026.
The match was listed as the final Sunday fixture of the 2026–27 Premier League opening round. Newcastle United were scheduled to host Liverpool at St James’ Park in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The Sunday programme also included Manchester City versus AFC Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion versus Aston Villa. Those matches were assigned earlier afternoon slots, so Newcastle versus Liverpool occupied the later Sunday position.
The 16:30 time is a UK schedule time in the 24-hour format. It should not be confused with the 17:30 Saturday kickoff for Brentford versus Tottenham Hotspur or the 20:00 Monday kickoff for Fulham versus Chelsea.
