Chelsea beat Fulham 3–2 at Craven Cottage on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
The match was played on Monday, 24 August 2026, and was the final fixture of the opening round. Chelsea therefore began their league campaign with an away victory in a five-goal west London contest.
Craven Cottage is Fulham’s home ground, located beside the River Thames. The result is recorded as Fulham 2–3 Chelsea because Fulham were the home team and Chelsea were the visitors.
This fixture also marked the league opening weekend for two managers with notable previous connections to Spanish football: Xabi Alonso took charge of Chelsea, while Álvaro Arbeloa managed Fulham. The scoreline is often reversed when the home-and-away order is overlooked.
