What was the original name of LEGO Ideas when it launched in Japan?

The story behind the answer

LEGO Ideas was originally called LEGO Cuusoo when it launched in Japan.

The service began as a collaboration between LEGO and the Japanese company Cuusoo System. It allowed fans to submit original construction-set concepts online. Projects that reached a specified support threshold could be reviewed by LEGO for possible production as official sets.

The platform became available internationally in 2012 and was renamed LEGO Ideas in 2014. Fan-designed projects have since produced sets based on original models, historical subjects, science-fiction properties and other community-supported concepts.

LEGO Ideas is often confused with LEGO’s general product-design activity, but it is specifically a crowdsourcing platform. Reaching the support threshold does not automatically guarantee production: LEGO reviews the concept for factors such as licensing, safety, playability and commercial suitability.
