What was the name of the tour Metallica used to support The Black Album?

The story behind the answer

Metallica supported The Black Album with the Wherever We May Roam Tour.

The tour was the band's first tour directly intended to support the 1991 album. It lasted about 14 months and included performances in the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom, helping convert the album's enormous record sales into a global live phenomenon.

The tour overlapped with Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion Tour during the 1992 stadium run. At a Montreal concert on August 8, 1992, James Hetfield suffered serious burns after accidentally entering a pyrotechnic flame during “Fade to Black.” Guitar technician John Marshall later filled in on rhythm guitar while Hetfield recovered.

The name is often confused with Nowhere Else to Roam, a later Metallica tour. The Wherever We May Roam Tour is the one specifically associated with the original support cycle for The Black Album.
