What was the name of the PlayStation 3's motion controller system?
Answer
PlayStation Move
Answer
PlayStation Move
The PlayStation 3’s motion controller system was called PlayStation Move.
Sony introduced PlayStation Move as a motion-sensing controller platform for the PlayStation 3. The system used a handheld controller with a glowing sphere, while the PlayStation Eye camera tracked the sphere’s position in three-dimensional space.
The Move controller included motion sensors and buttons, allowing compatible games to detect movement and orientation. Some games also used a separate Navigation Controller, which provided an analog stick and additional controls for movement.
PlayStation Move launched in 2010, several years after the PS3 itself. Its technology later became part of the original PlayStation VR ecosystem, where Move controllers could be used for motion-controlled virtual-reality games. It is separate from Sixaxis, the motion-sensing feature built into an earlier PS3 controller.
