Ark Encounter is the full-scale Noah’s Ark attraction that opened in Kentucky in 2016.
Ark Encounter is a Christian theme park in Williamstown, Kentucky, operated by Answers in Genesis. Its centerpiece is a large wooden structure designed according to the dimensions given in Genesis: 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high.
The attraction opened to the public on July 7, 2016. Its exhibits present a literalist interpretation of the Genesis Flood account, including displays about Noah’s family, animals, and the construction of the Ark.
Ark Encounter is separate from the nearby Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, which opened in 2007. The two attractions are operated by the same organization but are different sites with different central exhibits.
