The first official LEGO Minecraft set, released in 2012, was called Micro World.
LEGO Ideas set 21102 Micro World was based on Minecraft’s block-built visual style and included a compact cross-section of the game world. Rather than depicting a large conventional playset, it represented terrain, underground areas and familiar Minecraft elements with tiny LEGO constructions. The set was designed as a display model and could be expanded or rearranged.
Minecraft began as a computer game developed by Mojang, and its distinctive cubic landscapes translated naturally into LEGO building elements. The early set originated through LEGO’s crowdsourcing and fan-submission platform, then became the starting point for a much larger LEGO Minecraft product line.
Micro World is sometimes confused with later Minecraft sets such as The Village or The Nether Fortress. Those sets belong to the same theme but were not the first official LEGO Minecraft release.
