What was the name of Metallica's 1991–1992 tour supporting The Black Album?

The story behind the answer

Metallica supported The Black Album with the 1991–1992 Wherever We May Roam Tour.

The tour began on August 1, 1991, and was built around the band's newly released fifth studio album. It included arena performances in North America and later dates across Europe and other regions. The shows combined new songs with established favorites from Metallica's first four albums.

The tour is sometimes confused with the Guns N' Roses/Metallica Stadium Tour, which followed in 1992 and featured the two bands as co-headliners. The earlier Wherever We May Roam Tour was Metallica's own headline tour and was closely tied to the album's initial promotion.

Its stage design included a diamond-shaped performance area and an audience pit known as the Snakepit. Metallica generally performed without an opening act, presenting long concerts that often lasted about three hours.
