Homecoming was the name of Beyoncé’s 2019 visual album film released by Netflix.
Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé premiered on Netflix on April 17, 2019. It documents the preparation and staging of her 2018 Coachella performances, including rehearsals, production meetings, interviews, and footage from the festival shows.
The film emphasizes the role of historically Black colleges and universities in the performance’s visual language. Marching bands, majorette-style choreography, step traditions, and large student ensembles form the production’s central aesthetic.
Netflix released a companion live album, Homecoming: The Live Album, on the same day. The film is different from Black Is King, a 2020 visual album connected to The Lion King: The Gift, and from Lemonade, which premiered on HBO in 2016.
