What was the name of Beyoncé's first major girl group?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé's first major girl group was Destiny's Child.

The group formed in Houston in 1990 under the name Girl's Tyme. Its early members included Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett. After changes in its lineup and management, the group became Destiny's Child.

Destiny's Child signed with Columbia Records and released its self-titled debut album in 1998. The group became one of the best-selling female groups in music history, with major hits including “Say My Name,” “Survivor,” and “Bootylicious.” Beyoncé was the group's lead vocalist and one of its central songwriters.

The group's final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled, arrived in 2004. Destiny's Child announced a temporary separation in 2005, allowing its members to pursue individual projects. Beyoncé's solo career then became one of the most commercially and critically successful in popular music.
