What was the name of Beyoncé’s 2022 studio album?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé’s 2022 studio album was titled Renaissance.

Released on July 29, 2022, Renaissance was Beyoncé’s seventh studio album and the first installment of a planned trilogy. Its music draws heavily on dance, house, disco, funk and ballroom traditions, creating a club-oriented sound across 16 tracks.

The lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s eighth solo number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Other prominent tracks include “Cuff It,” “Alien Superstar” and “Virgo’s Groove.” The album’s credits acknowledge many earlier artists and composers whose work influenced or was sampled in its production.

Renaissance received nine Grammy nominations and won four awards at the 65th Grammy Awards, including Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. It should not be confused with Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé’s 2024 country-influenced studio album and the second act in the trilogy.
