What was the name of Apollo 16's command module, which orbited the Moon while its crew landed?

The story behind the answer

Apollo 16's command module was named Casper and orbited the Moon while two crewmates landed.

Thomas Mattingly piloted Casper alone in lunar orbit while commander John Young and lunar module pilot Charles Duke explored the Descartes Highlands in the lunar module Orion. Mattingly conducted observations and photography from orbit and prepared for the rendezvous that reunited the crew.

The name Casper referred to the friendly ghost character and gave the spacecraft a distinct identity from Orion. Apollo spacecraft names can be confusing because each mission had separate command and lunar modules. Casper was the command module; Orion was the lunar module that carried Young and Duke to the surface.
