What was the name of Apollo 11's lunar module, which carried Armstrong and Aldrin to the Moon's surface?

The story behind the answer

Apollo 11's lunar module was named Eagle.

Eagle carried astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin from lunar orbit to the Moon's surface on 20 July 1969. Michael Collins remained in the command module, Columbia, orbiting above them. The name came from the mission emblem, which showed an eagle carrying an olive branch and represented the United States.

Eagle's descent stage stayed on the Moon after landing, while its ascent stage lifted Armstrong and Aldrin back into lunar orbit. The astronauts then transferred to Columbia before Eagle's ascent stage was deliberately left in orbit and later crashed onto the Moon.

A common mix-up is reversing the names: Columbia was Apollo 11's command module, not its lander. Apollo 11's lunar module designation was LM-5, and its landing site was later called Tranquility Base.
