The length-to-width ratio of Noah’s Ark in Genesis was 6:1.
Genesis gives the ark as 300 cubits long and 50 cubits wide. Dividing 300 by 50 produces a length-to-width ratio of six to one. Its height is given as 30 cubits, so the vessel was also ten times as long as it was high.
The ratio is calculated from the biblical dimensions rather than from a discovered ship. Because the exact length of an ancient cubit varies, the absolute measurements are uncertain, but the ratio remains unchanged.
Modern discussions sometimes compare the stated proportions with those of barges or other stable vessels. Such comparisons can illustrate the geometry, but they do not establish the historical existence of the Ark or identify its construction method. Genesis also says the vessel had three levels, rooms, a door, and a window, adding structural details beyond the basic dimensions.
