What was the first Xbox game to win Game of the Year at The Game Awards?

The story behind the answer

Dragon Age: Inquisition was the first Xbox game to win Game of the Year at The Game Awards.

The role-playing game, developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts, won the inaugural Game of the Year award at The Game Awards in 2014. It was released for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as PlayStation and Windows platforms.

The Game Awards grew out of earlier video-game award broadcasts, but its modern ceremony began in 2014. Later winners included The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Overwatch, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and The Last of Us Part II. The award recognizes an overall game rather than an Xbox-exclusive title, so Dragon Age: Inquisition is not a Microsoft-only release.
