What was the first land plant sign Noah received from the dove?

The story behind the answer

The first land-plant sign Noah received from the dove was a freshly plucked olive leaf. Genesis 8:11 says the dove returned to the Ark with the leaf after Noah waited seven days and sent it out again.

The leaf showed that the Flood waters had receded enough for vegetation to be accessible. It did not necessarily prove that all the land was dry; Genesis continues the sequence with another release of the dove and later describes Noah leaving the Ark.

The olive branch or leaf became a widely recognized symbol of peace and renewal, partly because of this story and partly through later cultural traditions. The biblical passage specifically says olive leaf, not a generic branch or a different plant. The dove’s return with it is distinct from the raven’s earlier flight.
