What was the first feature-length 3D concert film made about U2?

The story behind the answer

U2 3D was the first feature-length 3D concert film made about U2.

The film was directed by Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington and released in 2008. It was recorded during U2’s Vertigo Tour, with performances captured in several South American cities, including Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Santiago, and Mexico City.

U2 3D used stereoscopic 3D photography and multichannel surround sound to recreate the scale of a U2 stadium performance for cinema audiences. Its set list included major songs such as “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “With or Without You,” and “Where the Streets Have No Name.”

It should not be confused with Rattle and Hum, which is a 1988 documentary film, or with conventional concert videos released for home viewing. U2 3D was designed specifically as a theatrical 3D experience.
