Brighton & Hove Albion beat Aston Villa 4–0 on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
The match took place at Brighton’s home ground on Sunday 23 August 2026. Brighton’s attack overwhelmed Villa during the opening half, scoring four times before the 31-minute mark.
Jack Hinshelwood scored twice in a 79-second spell. Maxim De Cuyper added another goal, and the fourth was an own goal by Villa defender Victor Lindelöf. Villa also lost João Gomes to a first-half red card.
