Chelsea beat Fulham 3–2 in the final match of the 2026–27 Premier League opening round.
The west London derby was played at Craven Cottage on Monday 24 August 2026. Chelsea scored three times, while Fulham scored twice, producing the round’s final result and one of its closest matches.
João Pedro scored early for Chelsea, Josh King equalised for Fulham, and Morgan Rogers restored Chelsea’s lead before half-time. Cole Palmer added Chelsea’s third goal, while Gonzalo García scored for Fulham on his Premier League debut.
The match also marked the first Premier League game in charge for Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso and Fulham manager Álvaro Arbeloa. Because the fixture was held on Monday, the opening round extended beyond the conventional Saturday-Sunday weekend.
