What was the Ark’s width in Genesis’s stated dimensions?

Genesis gives Noah’s Ark a width of 50 cubits.

Genesis 6:15 states the Ark’s dimensions as 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. The 50-cubit figure is therefore its stated width, while 30 cubits is its height and 300 cubits its length.

A cubit was an ancient length unit whose exact value differed across periods and cultures. Modern estimates commonly place a cubit around 44 to 52 centimetres, but the biblical text does not define its value in modern units. Consequently, the most precise answer remains “50 cubits,” rather than a converted measurement.
