What was the Ark’s stated width in Genesis, expressed in cubits?

The story behind the answer

The Ark’s stated width in Genesis was 50 cubits. Genesis 6:15 gives the complete set of dimensions as 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high.

These measurements describe a vessel with a length six times its width and a width greater than its height. The text also says that the Ark had three decks, rooms, a side door, and a window. Together, these details create a large boxlike structure intended to contain people, animals, supplies, and provisions.

The exact modern equivalent of 50 cubits cannot be fixed because ancient cubits varied. If a cubit is estimated at about 45 centimetres, the width would be roughly 22.5 metres. That conversion is illustrative, not a measurement supplied by Genesis itself, and different historical cubit standards produce different totals.
