What was the ark's length in cubits according to the Book of Genesis?

The story behind the answer

According to Genesis 6:15, Noah's ark was 300 cubits long.

The same verse gives the ark's other dimensions as 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high. Because the ancient cubit was a length based broadly on the forearm, its exact modern equivalent is uncertain. Using commonly cited estimates, 300 cubits would be roughly 135 metres, or about 450 feet, but conversions vary with the cubit standard used.

The biblical measurements describe a long, box-like vessel rather than a conventional ship designed for speed or navigation. Genesis says the ark had rooms, a covering, and an opening, and that it was coated with pitch to make it watertight. Modern replicas therefore differ in size depending on the cubit conversion and their interpretation of the ancient design.
